of the Greater London Council. When necessary representatives
from other statutory and voluntary bodies are invited to attend.
During 1969, no meetings were held of this Policy Committee.
This again is a reflection of the fact that the Housing Case
Conferences for rent arrears and the Intermediate Case Conferences,
etc., have so improved team work between the statutory and
voluntary services that the need for such meetings becomes correspondingly
less.
However, arising out of the deliberations of the Co-ordinating
Committee in 1968, the Greenwich Community Project was started,
with considerable financial help from two grant-making Trusts.
By November, 1969, the project had engaged a Community Worker
to work on a certain estate in the area.
Also, during 1969, an ad hoc meeting was held by the various
social service agencies and the electricity and gas boards. This
meeting was to discuss the ever increasing problem of debts for
electricity and gas and to explore ways of preventing this.
