from the inhalation of fire fumes, 2 from burns (1 chemical) and 1
arising from injuries sustained when jumping from a window to
escape from fire.
Common Infectious Diseases
There were no deaths registered during the current year from
diseases such as measles, scarlet fever, whooping cough, diphtheria
and diarrhoea which are covered by this classification. There were,
however, 2 female deaths of children under one year from gastroenteritis,
both of which occurred in hospital.
