accommodation in Grovebury Road. Now there is room for some
expansion of the services and, in fact, some increase has already
taken place. An Old People's Visitor is now based at the centre,
a school health vision clinic is held fortnightly and the Family
Planning Association holds weekly sessions.
A general practitioner obstetrician clinic has been established
at Creek Road Centre for the convenience of mothers in that area.
Psychoprophylactic training for childbirth has gone forward.
More classes have been introduced and these are now held at seven
centres in the Borough. Relaxation sessions for expectant mothers
are held in most of the other centres and these are well attended.
There is close co-operation between health visitors and the
staff of the Children's Department over the welfare of families
facing problems which are often difficult and even unsurmountable
to the family itself. Contact is also maintained between health
visitors, the staff of other Borough departments and voluntary
organisations.
