The Committee is most appreciative for the help given by Miss
Cuthbertson in assisting to arrange the entries and for carrying out
the judging.
Executive Committee.—We have to report with much regret the
decease of Mrs. M. E. Kidd, Centre Organiser for the Women's
Voluntary Service, Vice Chairman of our Association and of our
Committee, a long serving member for the interests of old people in
particular.
Mrs. Kidd's staunch work throughout the post-war years is
borne out by the number of Darby and Joan Clubs there are in the
Borough and we are sure that these Clubs will continue to serve as
a reminder to all of her devotion and untiring service to the cause of
the elderly.
We must also thank Mrs. P. M. Beacham, representative of the
Greenwich and Deptford Hospital Management Committtee for the
work she has carried out, particularly as a member of this Committee,
for the welfare of the aged. We are sorry to have to report that Mrs.
Beacham is no longer a member of the Hospital Management Committee
and her membership of our Committee therefore ceases."
