in deaths from Bronchitis compared with a reduction of 35 in regard
to Pneumonia.
Of the total deaths, 7 were children under one year of age
and 91 were in respect of persons 65 years and over.
Influenza.—There were 8 deaths attributed to this cause
during the year compared with 3 returned for last year. One was
registered in 1955, none in 1954 but fifteen were recorded during
1953.
Deaths from Violence.—These numbered 36 including 6
from Motor Vehicle Accidents, 14 from Suicide, one from Homicide
and the remainder being accounted for under the heading of ' All
Other Accidents.'
Deaths from Motor Vehicle Accidents were identical in number
to those of the previous year while the figure for suicide showed
an increase of 6.
