Sample of ' Frozen Water.'Found in some bags and car— cases of Ewe Mutton.Chem.Contaminated by arsenical sheep dip and bacterial liquid.Quantity of trimmings and pieces from 89 lambs rejected.
Sample of Powdered Milk.Taken from a school following several cases of diarrhoea.Bact.Low plate count, with no B. Coli and no pathogenic organisms being isolated.Head Teacher acquainted with result.
2 Samples from a bottle of milk.Complaint by a member of the Public regarding foreign bodies at the bottom of the bottle.Bact. & Chem.Eleven gummy particles, swollen with liquid, consisting mostly of gum arabic were isolated. Conformed to the standard of pasteurised milk.Complainant notified accordingly. The milk bottlers were acquainted with the position and their explanation accepted.
Pieces of Bread.Complaint by a member of the Public regarding alleged rat dirt contained in sample.Chem.Foreign body consisted of rust and dough. No faecal matter.Complainant notified accordingly. Bakers equipment inspected and the baker warned.
