'Included under Grocers' and Butchers' Shops.
Bakehouses.—Of the 16 premises in the Borough being used
as bakehouses at the end of the year, 2 were of the basement type
in respect of which Suitability Certificates were in operation.
Under the provisions of Section 54 of the Factories Act, 1937, all
basement premises were subjected to their quinquennial inspection
in 1953 and in two cases the bakehouses were found to be satisfactory
for continuance of their respective Certificates of Suitability.
Suitability certificates in respect of the two other basement bakehouses,
viz: 29 Blackheath Hill, S.E.10 and 115, Trafalgar Road,
S.E.10., were temporarily extended until such time as the alternative
premises at Plumbridge Street, S.E.10 were completed. These
