During 1954 arrangements were made under the above Act for
the burial of 7 bodies. The total expenses of these burials amounted
to £52 8s. 6d., of which the sum of £25 1s. 9d. was recovered, making
the nett cost to the Council of £27 6s. 9d.
Exhumations.—At the Greenwich Cemetery the bodies of 19
' Free Norwegians ' who died during the war period were exhumed
for the purposes of cremation and the return of their ashes to
Norway.
The Sanitary Inspector for the district was present to see that
the usual precautions were observed.
