Rochester Way Welfare Centre on Wednesdays. Attendances
averaged 60 per month.
The 'personal appeal' Scheme inaugurated during 1946
whereby parents are invited to have their children immunised on
reaching the age of 8 months has proved quite successful. During
the year under review 850 children were immunised as a result of
such appeal.

*Note—These figures relate to definite cases recorded. In addition it is
estimated that a further 400 children under 5 years and 1,000 over
5 years who are now residing on the L.C.C. new Housing Estates
in this Borough, have been immunised.
Acute Primary Pneumonia and Acute Influenzal Pneumonia.—These
causes were responsible for 72 cases as compared with
74 for the previous year and 64 for the year 1946. Twenty-nine
occurred in East Greenwich, 14 in West Greenwich, 1 in St. Nicholas
Deptford and 28 in Charlton and Kidbrooke.
There were three deaths arising from these diseases.
