Total Cases in Year = 2071.
Zymotic Enteritis or Epidemic Diarrhoea.—Ninety cases
were notified throughout the whole of the Borough, fifty-four
being under one year of age and thirty-six, one to five. Forty-nine
of such notifications related to patients in East Greenwich, nine
in West Greenwich, twenty-four in St. Nicholas, Deptford, and
eight in Charlton and Kidbrooke. There were twenty-seven
deaths ascribed to Diarrhoea and Enteritis.
Ophthalmia Neonatorum.—During the year six cases of this
disease were notified compared with seven in the previous
year. One occurred in St. Nicholas, Deptford, and five in Charlton
and Kidbrooke. Only one case was removed to hospital for
treatment.
Scarlet Fever.—The number of notifications of this disease
received during the year was 305 as compared with 301, 627 and
671 for the years 1935, 1934 and 1933. The cases were of a mild
type and call for no special comment.
Of the 305 cases, 147 were in East Greenwich, 53 in West
Greenwich, 20 in St. Nicholas, Deptford, and 85 in Charlton and
Kidbrooke. 282 cases were removed to Hospital for treatment
