NOTIFICATION OF FOOD POISONING.
Under the provisions of the London County Council (General
Powers) Act, 1932, which came into force on the 12th July, 1932,
every registered medical practitioner attending on any person shall,
if he suspects or becomes aware that such person is suffering from
food poisoning forthwith notify such case to the Medical Officer of
Health.
There was only 1 case notified during the year as compared
with one for the previous year. Upon investigation it appeared
that the patient had consumed some fried fish which had been
purchased from an address in an adjoining Borough. The Medical
Officer of Health of the area concerned was immediately informed
in order that suitable action could be taken. The patient soon
recovered with no apparent ill effects.
