[Report of the Medical Officer of Health for Greenwich Borough]

Thirty-four new covers to manholes have been provided;
38 systems have been sealed off or slurried up; 49 yards and
forecourts drained; 23 water-closets have been erected; 51
cleansed; 267 w.c. doors and seats repaired or provided; pan
and traps have been furnished in 370 cases; and other fittings
provided or improved in 256 cases, whilst the flushing apparatus
has been amended in 586 instances. Public-house urinals have
been cleansed and repaired in 12 instances.
Customs and Inland Revenue Acts.—No applications
were received during the year for certificates under these Acts.
Horse Slaughterer. — The one horse slaughtering
premises in the Borough has been inspected on three occasions
and the cleansing of premises duly carried out.
Public Sanitary Conveniences.
Speaking generally, the Borough is adequately served in
the way of public sanitary accommodation. The conveniences
are situated in the main arteries of traffic and there is no doubt
whatever that the use by the public of such conveniences is on
the increase.
