Measles.—See pages 59 to 61.
Milk, Virol, &c., Supplied to Nursing and Expectant
Mothers and Young Children.—In accordance with Circular
185 of the Ministry of Health, where the income falls within
the Council's scale, milk may be granted either free or at reduced
cost to :—
(a) Nursing Mothers;
(b) Expectant Mothers in the last 3 months of pregnancy;
(c) Children up to 3 years of age.
In addition dinners may also be given to Nursing and
Expectant Mothers who are in necessitous circumstances.
The whole of the milk supplied at our Centres is Full
Cream Dried Milk, and the same procedure has been adopted
with regard to the distribution as in previous years. The total
amount of such Milk sold or distributed free to Nursing and
Expectant Mothers and Young Children during the year was
55,'635 lbs. (24 tons, 16 cwts., 2 qrs., 27 lbs.).
The following tables show (a) the amount of milk, etc.,
given away and number of applicants receiving same, and (b)
quantities sold each quarter.
