All firms in finsbury and Holborn were circulated, and in addition to
the activities on the London County Council's premises, and in the
surgeries of family doctors the offer of sending a mobile vaccination
team if 5 or more volunteers for vaccination could be found was readily
accepted by a number of firms. This idea was further developed by
taking into commission in September 1959 a mobile immunisation clinic,
converted from an obsolete school bus, which visited popular street
sites, housing estates etc, traffic conditions permitting,and in which
a total of 6,659 injections were given up to 31st December 1960,
