Legal proceedings were instituted under the Public Health (London) Act 1936 for non-compliance with Nuisance Notices in the undermentioned cases:-

Nuisances Requiring Urgent Abatement:
During the year 3 notices were served by the Public Health
Inspectors pursuant to Sec.27 of the London County Council(General
Powers) Act 1955. In each case the Council arranged for the
abatement of the nuisances and recovery of the cost of same.
Eight notices were also served under Sec.25 of the same Act
requiring the clearing of stopped up drains. In 5 cases the
owners themselves arranged for the work to be done and in the
other 3 instances the drains were cleared by the Council.
Public Health (London) Act 1936-Section 40:
Two notices under this section were served during the year
in respect of defective drains which were subsequently repaired
by the Council.
