Although I am able to present a happy picture of the health
conditions in this Borough, nevertheless it must not be thought that
we have anywhere near reached the stage when we may be satisfied that
everything has been done on behalf of the citizens, for there unfortunately
continues to be much loss of life and of health which might be
prevented. I am hopeful that when the future policy of London Govern
ment is determined upon much further work may be done.
To you Mr, Mayor, I should like to extend in full measure my
thanks, and those of my staff, for all your courtesy and friendly help
during this past year, as well as the previous years during which you
were Chairman of the Health Committee, and also to the Chairman and
members of this and other Committees for their generous support. Once
again I acknowledge with sincere thanks the loyal help and co operation
of my staff for whose efficiency and kindly relations with the public
I often am given the thanks really due to them.
I have the honour to be
Your obedient Servant,,
C.O.S. BLYTH BROOKE
Medical Officer of Health.
