Education
Owing to pressure of work, activities in the field of education
in relation to food hygiene during 1956 were mainly confined to
(i) the distribution of literature and the exhibition of posters
(referred to in Section B) and
(ii) the personal education of food handlers by the Public Health
Inspectors in the course of routine visits to premises.
Such influence has undoubtedly had an increased effect since
personal persuasion has been backed by the Food Hygiene Regu1ations.
Consideration has been given in the past to the formation of a
clean food guild but for several reasons it was decided to abandon the
idea.
