HOUSING
General
The estimated number of dwellings in the borough at the end of
1956 was 9,732 consisting of 3,559 houses, 6,125 flats and 48 huts. The
houses are almost entirely privately owned. Ownership of the flats
is as follows:

New Accommodation
The housing construction programme of the Council and other housing
authorities has continued to make progress during the year and I
am pleased to report the erection and occupation of the following new
flats during 1956:
By the Pinsbury Borough Council - Priory Green Estate Extension:

Twelve certificates of habitation under Section 95 of the Public
Health (London) Act, 1936 were issued during 1956 in connection with
new or converted premises which included the above mentioned blocks of
flats.
