Food
Food Hygiene.
The Food Inspector comments and gives advice to traders and
their employees during his visits to the various food premises, as do
the Inspectors visiting factories where the canteens are included in
their inspections.
The local office of the Ministry of Food continues to co-operate
by insisting that new retail food premises that require a Food Office
Licence are constructed and equipped to the satisfaction of this
department before granting a licence.

Adulteration of Food.
449 samples were submitted to the Public Analyst during the
year. One milk sample was reported as fat abstracted, and in 8
samples of buttered rolls, margarine was found to be used. Warning
letters were sent.
37 samples were formal samples, and 412 informal.
