Infective Hepatitis.
Two families in the borough developed infective hepatitis.
The first outbreak occurred in October and 3 children were involved.
The second occurred in December when one child developed the
disease, but there was a history of two other cases in the same school,
although the children concerned lived outside the borough.
No other incidents occurred of moving any of the cases, and the
families were kept under close supervision.
Ophthalmia Neonatorum.
Nine cases were notified and all responded well to treatment.
Puerperal Pyrexia.
Five cases were notified. They all did well and there were no
deaths.
Erysipelas.
Eight cases were notified. They were all mild and all recovered.
Scarlet Fever.
There were 80 notified and one unnotified case. 67 were removed
to hospital because of home conditions. One developed the
complication of adenitis and all made a good recovery.
Tuberculosis.
The total number of new cases entered in the register during
the year was 100.

The distribution by sex and age, and according as to whether the case was of Pulmonary or Non-Pulmonary Tuberculosis, was :—
