On the 1st November, 1950, the Unit commenced operations
at the Mass Radiography Centre, 20, Golden Lane, London, E.C.1,
which although in the City of London is conveniently situated for
firms, etc., in the Borough of Finsbury. The Unit will remain at
the Centre for several months each year.
Mass Radiography enables large groups of people to have their
chests X-rayed with a minimum amount of inconvenience. The
purpose is to discover Tuberculosis and other chest ailments in
their early stages—when they can be more easily cured.
The Service, which is part of the National Health Service, is
reliable, speedy, painless and confidential.
A notification of the result is sent to examinees who are asked
to bring a stamped, addressed envelope for the purpose.
Firms and individuals who wish either to avail themselves of
this Chest X-ray Service or to obtain further information, should
communicate with Mr. E. G. Crowsley, Organising Secretary, Mass
Radiography Unit, Finsbury Health Centre, Pine Street, London,
E.C.i. (Telephone Numbers—Terminus 2121, Ext. 92, or Terminus
6184).
