Whooping Cough:
25.
Notifications of whooping cough numbered 49, and
there were no deaths. Prophylactic treatment has been continued in
conjunction with diphtheria prophylaxis.
Measles:
There were no deaths from measles during the year. Of
the 364 cases which occurred 87 were removed to hospital, partly on medical
and partly on social grounds. Special visits were paid to all cases nursed
at home.
Typhoid:
There were no notifications during the year.
Provision of Insulin:
By virtue of Section 227 of the Public Health (London) Act,
1936, the borough continued to bear the cost of treatment of diabetes in
the case of necessitous persons. 4 persons received assistance during
the year at a cost to the Council of £11. 3s. 8d.

Tuberculosis: The total number of now cases of tuberculosis, both pulmonary and non-pulmonary, entered in the Rogister in 1945 was 101. The age period details were as follows:

Of the above cases 28 ware brought to notice otherwise
than by formal notification. The number of cases removed from the
Register during the year was 97 and those remaining on the Register of
Notifications at the 31st December, 1945, were as follows:
