The Health Visitors collectively made 1,644 attendances at these Clinics.
(b) Maternity Clinics. These are conducted at the Central
Clinic, Amersham Road and at a newly established Clinic held at
Clyde Street Baths, four Sessions per week at the former and one
Session per week at the latter, being devoted to this purpose. The
service provided is designed to secure efficient ante-natal and post-natal
care. At present one of the Sessions at the Central Clinic is more or
less set aside for post-natal work.
Provision is made for X-Ray examination as an aid in the diagnosis
of obscure cases, 33 cases being thus dealt with.
The co-operation of the Medical Practitioners and of the Midwives
is sought and to them is forwarded the Report of the Medical Officer
upon any woman sent by them for examination. Closest co-operation
exists between the L.C.C. Hospital Maternity Departments and the
Council's Clinics.
