I am pleased to have this opportunity of thanking the
Chairman and Members of the Public Health Committee for their
support and encouragement during the year. I also wish to acknowledge
the co-operation of other Chief Officers and their staffs and my
particular thanks to my own staff for their loyal and efficient support.
I was sorry to lose the capable services of Mr. F .C. Sharpe upon his
retirement during the year. Mr. Sharpe had been on the staff of this
Public Health Department for 37 years, the last 17 years of which he
had held the post of Senior Public Health Inspector, and I wish him a
happy retirement.
