During the year under review and prior to the coming Into
operation of the above Act, 6 certificates of disrepair were Issued
to tenants and 3 certificates of fitness were granted to owners
under the Rent Acts.
(6) Swimming Baths
24 samples of water were taken during the year from the Council's
Public Swimming Baths and submitted for bacteriological examination
and chemical analysis. The reports showed that the water
consistently maintained a high degree of purity.
(7) Factories, Workshops and Workplaces
Factories and Workplaces In this Borough carrying on a variety
of trades number 1,475 and a total of 755 inspections and relnspectlons
were made during the year.
A number of visits were made in regard to drainage and
applications under the Town and Country Planning Act, 1947.
