During the year, the pre-war ancillary service of
Physio-therapy was resumed at the Welfare Centre.
Modern ultra-violet ray equipment was installed and
a physio-therapist engaged for two sessions a week
to give massage and light treatment. It was also
found necessary to hold an extra Maternity Clinic
session per week owing to increased attendances.

Home Helps.—Owing to our inability to obtain
the necessary staff it has been impossible to put into
operation the extended system of Home Helps for
domestic emergencies, recommended by the Ministry
of Health. The Maternity Home Help service was,
however, maintained with difficulty and provided for
42 cases during the year.
