TUBERCULOSIS.
Particulars of the notification certificates received
during the year are set out in the tables appended
hereto, from which it will be seen that 130 new cases
were notified in addition to 3 notifications which
were posthumous.
Information was also received from the RegistrarGeneral
or from the Local Registrars of the deaths
of 7 persons who had died from Tuberculosis but who
had not been notified under the Regulations. During
the year 28 persons who had been notified in other
Boroughs to be suffering from Tuberculosis took up
their residence in this Borough.
The number of patients remaining on the Tuberculosis
Register at the 31st December, 1937, was
1,166. The details are given in the table on pages
63 and 64.
During the year according to the Registrar General's
return, there were registered 73 deaths from
Pulmonary Tuberculosis, and 7 deaths from other
tuberculous diseases.
The number of deaths from Tuberculosis of all kinds during the past few years is as follows:—
