HEALTH EDUCATION.
The usual daily educational work of the Welfare
Centre by Doctors and Health Visitors, and also of
the Sanitary Inspectors was carried on during the
year. Leaflets on a variety of subjects supplemented
the spoken word.
The first of a 1935-36 series of lectures and film
displays arranged by the British Social Hygiene
Council took place at the Public Library Lecture
Hall, on the 12th December, when Dr. R. Eorgan
was the lecturer and Councillor Mrs. Bridger was the
chairman. There was a good audience and much
intelligent questioning.
While not strictly educational, I might mention
that the Public Health Committee arranged with
the Public Libraries Committee to take advertisement space on the book marks published by the
latter. This space was used to give publicity to
various aspects of maternity and child welfare and
other public health services.
