of new cases the figures show no striking variation from those of
recent years, and call for no special comment. I would like to
point out, however, that the figure showing the number of cases
referred to the department by local practitioners refers only to
those patients who had not previously attended the department,
and only partially represents the number of cases sent by doctors
during the year.
In conclusion I would like to thank the Medical Officers of
Health, the Hospital Physicians and Surgeons, the Resident
Medical Officer, and the Hospital Secretary for their valuable
help and advice ; and the Dispensary Staff for their efficient work
and loyal support.
