RAG AND BONE DEALERS.
15 persons or firms are known to be carrying
on this business in the Borough. During the year 28
visits of inspection were made, and 9 sanitary
notices were served.
HAIRDRESSERS.
98 hairdressers' premises were on the register,
168 visits were made to them, and 24 Notices were
served.
COMBINED DRAINAGE SYSTEMS.
The reconstruction and maintenance of such
combinations of drains of houses and premises as are
found to be sewers by law defined and are not under
highways is carried out by the Public Health Department.
The staff engaged on this work consists of a
drainlayer and four labourers, with additional help as
required.
During the year 2 systems were reconstructed,
taking 21 houses.
At the end of the year there were 635 such combined
drainage systems, taking 3,231 houses.
DRAINAGE WORK.
No legal proceedings were taken during the year
in respect of offences in connection with drainage
work,
