The attendance has been maintained as last year. A
larger number of mothers attended this year as new cases,
many of whom had badly neglected mouths requiring prolonged
treatment. It is an encouraging sign that an increasing
number of these mothers each year now consent to have dental
treatment, this of course increases the amount of denture
work, which now occupies a large part of the sessions.
More attention has been given to children of the younger
age group, 1½—3½ years, and mothers attending for treatment
themselves are urged to bring their toddlers for inspection and
any necessary treatment, as it is found in numbers of cases
that dental caries has commenced before all the milk teeth
have erupted.
