To avoid keeping Mothers waiting and to avoid the present
extended hours on duty of all the Staff concerned, more Sessions
and more appropriate equipment are essential.
Should the attendances increase in the next year when the
Clinic will be more widely known and recommended, a Session
each month (two consecutive weeks) is clearly indicated if
careful work is to be successfully carried on.*
Mention must be made of the willing co-operation and
enthusiasm of the Health Visitors who staff this Clinic, and
the Domestic Staff for their help in arranging the rooms
suitably, and keeping the Toddlers happy while the Mothers
attend the Clinic.
K. M. Horton.

beginning of 1934.
HEALTH TALKS.
Dr. Horton reports :
An effort has been made this year to make these Talks of
practical value to the mothers. In many cases the Talks have
been accompanied by demonstrations to impress the subject
more clearly on the minds of the audience. Five main groups
of subject have been presented. Each group represents one of
the management problems which every mother must solve for
herself in order to bring up a happy, healthy child.
We have been assisted in our work by senior student Health
Visitors who have given nearly half of these Talks. Informal
teaching goes on at the stall for clothing on view at the Centre
at which the Borough Midwife is on duty as often as possible.
A life size baby doll has been lent to us and so it is now possible
to demonstrate the correct type of infant clothes on a model.
A smaller doll is in use for the same purpose at the Hereford
Street Centre.
