death rate of 12.5 per 1,000 population, which compares
with 12.2 for the County of London and 12.3
for England and Wales as a whole.
Measles, Cancer and Heart disease all show
decreases, but there is a marked increase in the deaths
from Influenza, Pneumonia and other respiratory
diseases.
Infantile mortality and the mortality from cancer,
street accidents and from tuberculosis and other
infectious diseases are subjects of comment in other
parts of this report.
