The number of visits paid to Home Workers'
dwellings was 1,561. The number of premises found
to be in an insanitary condition was 219, or 39.6 per
cent. of the 553 premises inspected. Notices were
served in 262 cases, while 31 other premises were under
notice arising from other visits, and a verbal intimation
was given in 12 further cases.
Difficulty is still experienced in getting some
employers promptly and accurately to send in copies
of their list of outworkers, but no legal proceedings
were taken in the matter during the year.
