the Maternity Clinic are given in detail later.
TALKS TO MOTHERS.
The educational work of the Centres is frequently
intensified by informal talks to groups of mothers by
members of the Health Visiting Staff. During the year
64 such talks were given, the majority of them in connection
with the Maternity Clinic. The subjects of
talks were, of course, mainly such things as Infant
feeding, clothing and exercise, practical home preparations
for confinement, importance of dental care, etc.,
but other useful talks were given on such topics as
"Babies and Hot Sunshine," "Warding off Bronchitis,"
"Work of Kidneys during Pregnancy," etc.
LITERATURE.
We have not added to our stock of literature during
the year, but the standing leaflets on Maternal and
Child Welfare and the booklet "To Fathers and
Mothers" are in regular use.
