The Publ1c Analyst has furn1shed me w1th the
follow1ng report on h1s work dur1ng the year:—
Dur1ng the year 1929, a total of 750 samples were
exam1ned under the Sale of Food and Drugs Act. One of
these samples was subm1tted by a ne1ghbour1ng Author1ty,
the rema1nder were subm1tted by the 1nspectors.
There were no samples subm1tted by the general Publ1c.
Of the samples 166 were purchased 1nformally. S1xty
samples 1n all, or 7.99 per cent. of the total taken were
found to be adulterated. 1n add1t1on 73 samples were of
1nfer1or qual1ty or doubtful pur1ty.
