PUBLIC MORTUARY.

During the year 161 bodies were received at the
Mortuary, i.e.:—
On Coroner's order 124
From the Police 9
At the request of relatives 28
Exact particulars are only available as to the 85
bodies on which coroner's inquests were held. On 31
of these bodies post-mortem examinations were made.
There were also 52 post-mortem examinations made in
cases in which there was no inquest.
