WORK OF TUBERCULOSIS HEALTH
VISITORS.
The two Tuberculosis Health Visitors paid 4,682
visits of enquiry and advice with regard to the welfare
of tuberculous patients in the Borough. In the course
of their work they endeavour to persuade such patients
to adopt such hygienic manner of life as is practicable
by separate sleeping accommodation, safe collection and
disposal of sputum, etc. They also make economic
enquiries on behalf of the L.C.C. in connection with
sanatorium treatment, etc.
TUBERCULOSIS SUB-COMMITTEE.
The Tuberculosis Sub-Committee of the Public
Health Committee has functioned during the year as
the local care committee, dealing with such matters as
grants of extra nourishment, assessments for sanatorium
treatment on behalf of the London County Council,
provision of bedsteads and bedding on loan to necessitous
patients, etc.
