The Wandsworth Borough Council made a grant of £850 per annum
towards the cost of maintaining the Mortuary.
The London County Council pay a rent of £525 per annum for the
use of the Coroner's Court.
During 1962 a request was received from the Borough of Southwark
to receive bodies during the reconstruction of their own Mortuary. It
was found possible to assist in this way, and the Health Committee
agreed to the request. Bodies from Southwark were received into the
Mortuary from November, 1962, until January, 1964, and the total
admitted during that period amounted to 826. Personnel from the
Southwark Mortuary were used to assist our own Mortuary Staff, and
this arrangement was found to be very satisfactory.
