Two cases of contraventions of Section 2 of the Food and Drugs
Act. 1955, were dealt with by legal proceedings, as follows : —
Loaf of Bread containing a portion of metal screw—Fined £20 and
£2 2s. 0d. costs.
Bread roll containing a quantity of tobacco — Fined £20 and
£2 2s. 0d. costs.
Unsound Food.
The following table gives particulars of the unsound food which, Under the provisions of the Public Health (London) Act, 1936, Section (8), were voluntarily surrendered to the Council.

One summons was issued during the year in connection with the
unlawful sale of three pork pies not of the quality demanded, in that
they were mouldy, contrary to Section 2 of the Food and Drugs Act,
1955. The defendant was fined £20 and £5 costs.
