Outworkers.
During the year, in February and August, lists of outworkers were
received from Battersea employers and from other authorities as required
by the Factories Act, 1961. Some of these lists included outworkers not
residing in Battersea, and these were forwarded to the appropriate
authorities.
The total number of registered outworkers' premises in the Borough
at the end of the year was 122 (including 1 contractor). The total
number of inspections made was 265. The premises were found to be
generally satisfactory, and it was not necessary to serve any notices or
to take any other action.
