The deaths of 810 residents of Battersea aged 65 years and
upwards were registered during 1961. These 810 deaths constituted
66.0 per cent, of the total deaths at all ages.
The natural increase of population (that is, excess of births over
deaths) was 828 in 1961 as compared with 795 in 1960.
The causes of the 1,227 deaths in 1961, classified in various age
groups, are shown in the following table, compiled from figures supplied
