FOOD POISONING.
Twenty-five cases of food poisoning were notified during the y^'
and three cases were otherwise ascertained. In 18 cases the causati
organisms were found be be Salmonella of the following types:—
Brancaster 1 case
Typhi-murium 17 cases
The agents for the remaining 10 cases were not identified.
There was a mild outbreak due to Chlostridium Welchii affecting
79 people who ate lunch in a factory canteen situated within j
Borough. The duration of the illness was very short, and all f
people affected returned to work the following day. The food causM
this outbreak was steak which was cooked one afternoon, left to cO ,
overnight and was eaten the following day. None of the people affected
were notified as suffering from food poisoning.
