Dangerous Structures.
During the course of inspection for any purpose carried out by
the officers of the Department, should any dangerous structure or
any dangerous condition appertaining to a building be noticed, the
District Surveyor of the London County Council is notified for any
action he may decide to take. 129 such cases were notified.
Shops Act, 1950.
Three exemption certificates were issued under Section 38 of this
Act, in respect of premises where restricted space precluded the provision
on the premises of a separate water-closet for the use of male
employees. In two cases satisfactory arrangements were made for the
use of sanitary conveniences in adjoining premises. In the third case,
where only one male employee was concerned, the certificate was issued
on the understanding that a bolt and a "Vacant-Engaged" sign was
affixed to the door of the sanitary convenience.
