Infant Mortality.
During 1951 the deaths of 52 infants under 1 year of age were
registered as belonging to Battersea. The total number of live births
registered during the year was 1,886 giving an infant mortality
rate of 27.57 per 1,000 live births as compared with 26.86 in 1950
and 25.21 in 1949.
The infant mortality rates in the County of London and in
England and Wales during - 1951 were 26.4 and 29.6 respectively.
