Infant Mortality.
During 1947 the deaths of 84 infants under 1 year of age were
registered as belonging to Battersea. The total number of live births
registered during the year was 2,663, giving an infant mortality rate
of 31.54 per 1,000 live births, as compared with 42.42 in 1946, 40.8
in 1945, and 49.82 in 1944.
The infant mortality rates in the County, of London and in
England and Wales during 1947 were 37 and 41 respectively.
