Housing Committee. Satisfactory explanations having been
received and the rent books having been put in order, no legal
proceedings were considered necessary, but the Housing Committee
directed cautionary letters to be sent to the offenders.
Structural Defects.
The attention of the District Surveyor of the London County
Council was drawn, in 136 instances, to structural defects observed
by the Sanitary Inspectors during the course of their duties.

The following is a list of streets in the Borough in which houses were found, on inspection, to be insanitary, and were dealt with by the Council under the provisions of the Housing Acts, either informally or by the service of notice under section 17 of the Housing Act, 1930, or under the provisions of section 19 of the Act, during 1935:—
