To the Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors of the
Metropolitan Borough of Batlersea.
Mr. Mayor, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present to you my Annual Report on
the Health and Sanitary condition of the Borough for the year
1934.
In the course of the year Dr. G. Quin Lennane, who has been
Mcdical Officer of Health for the Borough for 28 years, retired,
and I succeeded him in that office on the 1st October.
During the year a survey of the public health services was
carried out by the Medical Officers of the Ministry of Health, who
reported to the Minister that a reasonable standard of efficiency
and progress was being maintained by the Council in the discharge of
their functions relating to Public Health. Suggestions which were
made by the Ministry on certain points connected with particular
services have received the careful attention of the Council.
I wish to express my appreciation of the help and consideration
I have received on taking over my new post, from the Mayor and
Councillors, the Chief Officers of the Council, and the staff of the
Public Health Department.
I have the honour to be, Mr. Mayor, ladies and gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
(Signed) G. MACDONALD,
Medical Officer of Health.

Lavender Hill, S.W. 11.
May, 1935.
