30 mothers were confined at the Borough Maternity Home.

1 mother was confined at Clapham Maternity Home.
4 mothers were confined by private midwives.
Infant Welfare Work.—68 sessions held, with a total attendance
of 1,915.
Cases referred to Hospital.—1 case sent to Belgrave Hospital for
Children for acute diarrhæa; 1 case sent to Golden Square Throat
and Ear Hospital for otitis media; 2 cases sent to Battersea General
Hospital for bronchitis; several cases sent to Victoria Hospital
for Children for tonsils, adenoids, circumcisions, &c.
Fourteen mothers and 7 babies were sent to Convalescent
Homes.
The District Nurses have done good work in visiting the children
in their own homes for special dressings and discharging ears.
Dinners for Mothers.—We are having excellent attendances,
and many mothers are being sent to us from the Borough.
Dinners for Toddlers.—These dinners are becoming increasingly
popular and proving most helpful.
The Borough Dental Clinic has been a very great help to our
mothers and children.
Battersea School for Mothers.
The Mundella Road Centre of the Battersea School for Mothers,
which has been in operation since 1918, serves a very large, populous
working-class area in the Nine Elms district, and is one of the
two important areas served by the Voluntary Associations linked
up with the Council's scheme. The financial contribution made by
the Council is referred to on page 18.
The ante-natal work at this centre is transferred to the
Ante-natal clinic at the Borough Maternity Hospital, all cases
being referred to the central clinic there for examination and
report.
