Senile Mortality.

During 1934 the deaths of 910 residents of Battersea aged 65 years and upwards were registered. The distribution of these deaths, which constituted 48.35 per cent. of the deaths at all ages, is set out in the following table:—

Infant Mortality.
During 1934 the deaths of 132 infants were registered as belonging
to Battersea. The total number of births registered during
the year was 2,154, giving an infant mortality rate of 61.28 per
1,000 births, as compared with 49.49 in 1933, 57.8 in 1932, 57.3 in
1931, and 54.7 in 1930. The infant mortality rate for the year 1933
was the lowest vet recorded in Battersea.
